Hiring

Contract, Contract-to-Hire, or Permanent?

The right hiring model depends less on budget than on how certain you are about the role itself.

Teams often choose a hiring model by budget line. A more useful question is how well defined the role is and how quickly the need has to be covered.

Contract works when the need is real but bounded: a seasonal retail push, a telecom rollout, a coverage gap during parental leave. You are buying capacity with a known end date.

Contract-to-hire works when the role is new or still forming. Both sides get evidence before committing, which is often fairer to the candidate than an interview process pretending to certainty nobody has.

Permanent placement is right when the role is well understood and the value compounds — account ownership, customer relationships, team leadership.

Executive search is a different exercise entirely. It is a small market, mostly not looking, and it is won through relationships and confidentiality rather than volume.

We run all four. The recommendation depends on your situation, and we will say when the model you asked for is not the one we would use.
